MTV approached Paul Rosenberg and Eminem for a show, who wanted to do something humorous, resting on webisodes. They met Mark Brooks and Peter Gilstrap, who were the animators, co-producers, and wrote the theme song. At the time, the animators already had two other shows on the web.
