Nathaniel Dwayne Hale (August 19, 1969 - March 15, 2011), known professionally as Nate Dogg, was an American singer, rapper, and actor from Long Beach, California. Known as a member of the rap group 213 (with Snoop Dogg and Warren G), he is also primarily known for his solo career where he frequently collaborated with rappers such as Dr. Dre, Eminem, 2Pac, Warren G, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent and Ludacris. He was most well-known for his hooks, though he also occasionally delivered verses in guest appearances. On March 15, 2011, Nate Dogg died at the age of 41 due to complications of multiple strokes.

During the 2000s, Nate Dogg frequently collaborated with Eminem, with their most notable work being the hit song "'Till I Collapse" from The Eminem Show. In 2021, it became the first non-single to surpass 1 billion views on Spotify.[1] Nate Dogg appears in animated form in the music video for "Shake That," released in 2006.

Upon his passing, Eminem expressed gratitude for Nate Dogg's musical influence and contributions to West Coast hip-hop, calling him "irreplaceable."[2]
