Jason Bradley DeFord (born December 4, 1984), professionally known as Jelly Roll, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He rose to mainstream prominence following the release of his 2022 singles "Son of a Sinner" and "Need a Favor".
He was sampled on the Eminem song, "Somebody Save Me," from The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) (2024). Jelly Roll remarked on how he was "brought to tears" over this, where he grew up listening to Eminem as a teenager and "related to every word Eminem wrote." He continued, "I understand him and felt like he understood me, which was rare cause I spent most of my life feeling misunderstood."[1]
