The discography of American rapper Eminem consists of 12 studio albums, two compilation albums, and one extended play. His debut album, Infinite, was released in 1996 and regarded as a commercial failure. After performing at the 1997 Rap Olympics, he gained the attention of Interscope Records intern Dean Geistlinger, where Em's project The Slim Shady EP reached to record producer Dr. Dre. After signing a contract with Interscope and Aftermath Entertainment, the rapper released The Slim Shady LP in 1999, which debuted at number two on the Billboard 200, and established his alter ego Slim Shady, known for performing more provocative and violent lyrics.
According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), Eminem has sold 61.5 million albums and 167 million digital singles units in the United States.[1][2]
